Linus Pauling Volunteer Opportunities

Welcome parents! Thank you for taking the time and interest in volunteering at your student's school. Our volunteers make LPMS a wonderful school. Together we support our wonderful LPMS staff.  

Signing up to help at an event/job doesn't mean that you have been cleared to help in that role. Some jobs require that you have a school verified Criminal History Background Check (CHBC). Visitors aren't required to have a background check but must be escorted by a staff member at all times.  Unsure if you are cleared to Volunteer, then call the office or check the New Helpcounter computer located in the office.  If you have not completed a CHBC within the past 2 years or your name is not in the system, then go to the school Districts web page (Parents/Volunteers) and complete the online form. The process only takes a few days, but you won't be notified if cleared.  You need to call or check the computer again.  

Approx. 2-5 days before a LPMS event, LPMS staff will confirm that you have been cleared to volunteer for events/jobs that require this security.  If your name does not appear in the district's database of cleared CHBCs then you will be contacted.  All 509J employees, please note in the Volunteer Spot record comments section that you are a 509J employee.
